Celebrating Diversity and Literature: A Look Back at the BIPOC Book Fest

TrueLeap is a proud partner of the annual BIPOC Book Fest. Once again, this event profoundly touched our community by bringing together the rich, diverse voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and other marginalized creatives for an unforgettable literary showcase.

BIPOC brought together authors, poets, and literary enthusiasts from across the nation. We had the pleasure of hosting the talented Fernando Moguel, who shared his latest work, Mr. Pendlum’s Compendium – The Illustrated Multiverse Vol. 1. Fernando’s book was a unique blend of poetry and illustration.

We owe a huge thank you to Born Global Ventures and the Asia Society Texas Center. Their incredible support was essential in bringing this vibrant celebration to life. Their enthusiasm and commitment were evident as they facilitated discussions, managed event logistics, and ensured a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Their participation was a testament to the impact that active engagement and volunteerism can have on both individual growth and community development.

One of the event’s highlights was a vibrant discussion led by Summer Xiao in collaboration with the TrueLeap Inc Popup Library on advocacy and volunteerism. Summer eloquently stated, “Most people connect speaking up with being on social media, but your voices can be heard even louder if you show up at school board meetings or city council public sessions. When everyone can have a voice on social media, your voice is definitely more pronounced if you are willing to speak up in real life.”

TrueLeap Pop-Up Library continues to bring joy and education to various parks every month. This family-friendly event was set around a giant parachute, adorned with the colors of the rainbow, symbolizing unity and diversity. It is a place where stories are shared in multiple languages, crafts are made, and the arts are celebrated—all designed to foster a deeper appreciation for our world’s rich cultural tapestry.

Join us in our ongoing journey to foster a love for literature, arts, and culture among the young talents of our community. Our next gathering promises even more enriching experiences, engaging storytelling, and joyful moments of learning and connection.

Don’t miss out on creating cherished memories with us. Reserve your spot at https://trueleap.io/popuplibrary/ for our upcoming events and let’s continue to celebrate the beauty of diverse voices together!
