The 2024-25 Assam Book Fair in Guwahati was a landmark moment for TrueLeap, marking our debut in India at this vibrant celebration of literature, education, and community. Positioned prominently near the main stage, our booth became a lively hub of engagement, fostering meaningful connections with educators, students, parents, and policymakers.
The event offered the perfect stage to showcase our innovative platform and launch an exciting new contest, drawing in a dynamic and passionate audience eager to explore fresh ideas in education. This milestone reaffirmed our commitment to transforming global access to quality education, and we were thrilled to connect with such an inspiring and enthusiastic community.
The Assam Book Fair, held from December 27, 2024, to January 7, 2025, at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati, served as the perfect event for TrueLeap’s introduction in India. The event is one of the biggest book fairs in the country. This year it attracted over 550,000 visitors. The event featured 118 publishers and booksellers, offering a diverse range of literature across 350 stalls. Throughout the 12-day fair, books worth approximately ₹7 crore (around $842,000) were sold, breaking all previous records.
One of the standout moments was engaging with educators and parents who shared their perspectives on the unique challenges faced by learners in the region. Many voiced their appreciation for TrueLeap’s emphasis on inclusivity, particularly our plans to integrate regional languages and localized content into the platform. They noted that this feature could be transformative for rural and underprivileged communities, enabling access to quality education like never before.
Talking about the current education system in India with TrueLeap, Dr. Pegu said, “There are different landmarks till 2035 and we are very much ahead of the landmark. We are improving the quality of education. For school education, we are holding the Gunotsav, in which every year the number of schools securing A Plus or A Grade are increasing.”
Phukan also spoke highly about TrueLeap’s mission to make digital education accessible and affordable. He believes that this model will definitely scale as digital education is of utmost importance currently. “TrueLeap’s service and motive will go up,” he added.
Their insights offered valuable context for the challenges and opportunities in Assam’s educational landscape, highlighting areas where TrueLeap can make a meaningful impact.
In addition to these interviews, TrueLeap hosted podcasts and street interviews with educators, students, and parents attending the fair. These conversations captured a kaleidoscope of perspectives on topics like personalized learning, technology in education, and the role of community in fostering academic growth.
TrueLeap’s main attraction, the Leapy Thunder Story Writing Contest, gained hundreds of registrations from parents who wanted their children aged 10-18 to participate and win exciting prizes.
To everyone who visited our booth, signed up for the platform, or signed up for the contest, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your encouragement and feedback have fueled our mission to create a more inclusive, engaging, and impactful education platform for all.
